5 Multivitamin myths — should you worry about your vitamins?

Myth #1: All multivitamins are created equally I know that in these difficult economic times, many of us are shopping at discount markets. But I would offer a word of caution about buying your vitamin supplements from these places, as their makers may not adhere to good manufacturing practices. Often these multivitamins are poor quality, low on nutrients, and full of unnecessary additives.  To learn more: http://www.womentowomen.com/healthynutrition/multivitaminmyths.aspx?

8 Reasons to Slooow Down

Dear Friends,

As many of us are constantly on the go it's no wonder why many of us are on edge and feeling like we have to fill every free moment with something or if we don't, feeling like we should be. I have started meditation and although it is hard for me to sit in silence, I am seeing the value in it on many levels with the help of a great instructor.  Even just sitting with a warm cup of coffee and holding it in your hands on a cold day or sitting in the car with the warm sun hitting your face (even though it is freezing outside and of course the heat is on! :0).  For more info on how go to http://www.redbookmag.com/health-wellness/advice/slow-down?click=main_sr (Winding down the pace of your life just a tad can make you happier and healthier).  Enjoy your weekend!

Sincerely,

Education and Healthcare

Dear Friends,

Do you ever wonder why these topics never seem to have any forward progression.  For as long as I can remember they have always been hot topics during a political race.  Why are these things so hard to change or come to an agreement on?

What sparked this for me was watching the show "The Talk".  The discussion was on school systems and the movie "Waiting For Superman".  I am one of the fortunate ones to have a decent school system, however there are many that don't.  Another controversy on this topic was a woman who was sent to jail because she had put her child in another district that had a better quality school and more opportunity.  Reason for being arrested, she does not pay taxes for that district and had refused to pay additional taxes on top of what she was paying for her failing school.  I have yet to see the movie but definitely want to.  What are your thoughts...

Here is a link if you would like to donate to a school in need, you get to pick the class!  http://www.donorschoose.org/

Also placing a link to the movie on my website if you would like to pre-order.  It will be released February 15, 2011.

Reclaiming Your Life

Dear Bloggers,

What inspired me for today's blog was when I was watching the show "In the Middle" on ABC.  As like many of you , I can relate to the character Frankie in this episode.  You don't know how it happens but your kids slowly take over your life without even you realizing it.  You love them and that is why it happens but you don't even realize as it is happening.  That is why this blog is something for me, a part of me that I am reclaiming.  Who knows maybe I can reclaim my house too, although probably not quite yet.  I probably have to at least wait until the babies know what I am saying :0)

If you have the time watch this full episode of "In the Middle", so funny!

Here is the clip! http://abc.go.com/watch/clip/the-middle/SH011581190000/PL5539682/VD55105136/catering-to-the-kids/moments

Conquering Napping Issues...or So I thought

Dear Bloggers,

I am sure many of you can relate.  I had a moment this week...I thought I had conquered one of my girls napping issues. Every day I put Bella down for a nap at the same time as her twin sister Ava.  Ava typically falls asleep pretty quickly.  Every day, 45 minutes later Bella is still awake.  Not only is she awake but she tricks me by being really quiet for about 10 minutes, then goes hahaha, still not sleeping.  So like every other mom, I was determined to find the answer.  I had come to the conclusion, it must be the cold draft from the window...I know it is, I was sure.  So I moved her crib away from the window.  What do you know it worked, I was on top of the world...well at least until today. Last a few days anyway, hahaha Children really keep you grounded :0) Tomorrow is a new day!

Sincerely,
Patty (Mom Sponge)

Learn More About Adrenal Fatigue

Natural solutions for adrenal fatigue -- restoring the energy you thought was lost

I have recently started going to Northeast Center for Holistic Medicine located in Bedford, NH http://northeast-holistic.com/.  I started taking supplements addressing adrenal fatigue due to stress, post pregnancy, and also recovering from a full hysterectomy.  Adrenal Fatigue is something you may not hear from your primary doctor or your OBGYN.  I was feeling not only tired and drained even after a good night sleep but also irritable and short tempered.  I started taking a supplement and noticed a change immediately.  Take the time to listen to your body as many don't realize the toll stress alone plays on your body. Learn more about the role of your adrenal glands plays in your body. Learn more now
